Michael is the chairman of the All Party Parliamentary Group for Youth Employment. The Group meets each month and looks at good practice from across the country and highlights to relevant Ministers what is working and what could be improved. At each session we examine the latest statistics on jobs, and although these are moving in the right direction, and we are at record high employment overall, youth unemployment is still too high.
Groups who have given evidence to our sessions include, Impetus PEF, City Uk, Essex County Council, and Talent Match and Get My First Job.

In Dorset, Michael is chairing a steering group for Dorset Young Chamber, a unique programme to build a bridge between the world of business and the world of education. This includes Queen Elizabeth School in Wimborne and Lytchett Minister School. Further information about this exciting project can be found at http://www.dcci.co.uk/young-chamber-programme
