Together with Councillors Peter Webb, Paul Johns, Bill Pipe and County Council Candidate Mike Fry, Michael Tomlinson saw the new building in place at Lytchett Minster School.
The new Olympic block has been taken from the London Olympics 2012 and will be used as a temporary replacement for art, music and theatre.
On the 27th December 2012, the school suffered a major fire in the Creative Arts block and Gainsford Theatre as a result of a lightening strike in the early hours of the morning. Michael Tomlinson said, "The Olympic block looks impressive and fits in well with its surroundings. When the words "Olympic legacy" were uttered, people probably did not have Lytchett Minster School in mind, but I think it is a brilliant use of London 2012 Olympicsbuildings."
