On Remembrance Sunday Michael attended the Parade and Act of Remembrance and laid a wreath at Lytchett Minster Church. Later in the day he also attended the Remembrance Parade in Wimborne. A wreath was also laid on his behalf in Lytchett Matravers.
On the 11th of November itself Michael participated in a short service at the War Memorial in Corfe Mullen with local councillors and veterans.
Michael said:
It is important that every year we remember those who have died defending this country. In the summer I had the privilege of visiting war graves in Italy, including those of Dorset soldiers. They were fighting for the freedoms that we all enjoy today, and we should never forget that they made the ultimate sacrifice. “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”
