The Government is keen to help people with the cost of heating their homes, not just in the short term with the financial support this winter, but also longer term.
There are various schemes for helping people to insulate their homes, and the newest is the ECO+ scheme. This is a grant that can be used for things like insulation, and possibly updating your boiler. It is available to those on low incomes, and those living in council tax properties in bands A-D. Michael was keen to make sure that as many people as possible heard about the scheme, so he has written to hundreds of residents to let them know about the scheme. There are many homes with lower than ideal levels of insulation. Putting in insulation could save people up to £200 a year in heating costs. I would encourage everyone who might be eligible to contact their energy supplier to find out what grants they can get.
