This week is Pro Bono week in the legal profession. "Pro Bono" literally mean "For Good" and is the term used when lawyers give free legal advice.
In his role as Solicitor General Michael was invited to speak to young lawyers in Middle Temple about Pro Bono work and volunteering. Mchael talked about his former work as a barrister, including his work for the Free Representation Unit when he was a junior barrister. FRU helps people who are not eligible for legal aid and cannot afford lawyers. Michael also attended the All Party Parliamentary Group for Pro Bono event, along with the Attorney General Victoria Prentis.
Michael said
"It was great to talk about volunteering to young lawyers in Middle Temple During Pro Bono week, and share my experiences with the Free Representation Unit."
