Following the news that Barclays Bank were closing in Broadstone, Michael wrote to Barclays asking them to reconsider.
They confirmed that they would continue to have a community presence, and Michael followed up several constituents' concerns with them about access to face to face help and advice.
Barclays have now confirmed that they will have pop up banking help and advice in Broadstone. Barclays staff will be at The Junction Sports & Leisure Centre, Station Approach, Broadstone:
- Mondays 9.30am – 2.30pm

Customers visiting The Junction Sports & Leisure Centre will be able to access a wide range of services including financial reviews, balance requests, open new accounts and have support with digital banking.
Everyday banking transactions including cash deposits and withdrawals will need to be completed at a local Post Office.

I know the decision to close Barclays was disappointing to many people. The Post Office will be available for withdrawals and deposits, but it's great news that Barclays will be providing a face-to-face service in Broadstone, particularly for more vulnerable residents, and those who have difficulty with online banking.
