Michael Tomlinson has welcomed the news that Mid Dorset and North Poole will benefit from over £9,000 in new funding as a result of the Government’s long-term investment in grassroots sports. As a keen sportsman, Michael knows the importance of keeping active and healthy.
Exercising more is the most common New Year’s resolution. That is why the Government is helping hundreds of thousands of people across the country stick to their resolution by delivering high-quality grassroots sports facilities. Three projects in our local area are benefiting from this new funding. Merley & Cobham Youth FC will get new goal posts at Merley First School, Bere Regis FC will get new fencing at Bere Regis sports club, and Poole Town FC Wessex will get new floodlights at Haymoor Junior School.
Since 2021, the Conservative Government has helped deliver new facilities or improvements at almost 2,400 sites across the UK, getting more than120,000 people active.
