Michael waves off the returning Wareham to Swanage train service for the first time in 45 years.
Last week, Michael attended the opening of the Isle of Purbeck train service from Swanage and Corfe Castle to the main line at Wareham which travels to London Waterloo. This fantastic achievement is down to 40 years of dedicated hard work by the Swanage Railway volunteers, as well as partnership working between the Government’s Coastal Communities Fund, Purbeck district and Dorset county councils, BP, Perenco, Network Rail and South West Trains. The prestigious Queen’s awards for voluntary service has been awarded to Swanage Railway.
Michael will continue with his campaign for better infrastructure in Dorset, and is delighted to be able to support this project.
