On Saturday the AJ Bell Tour of Britain will be coming to Dorset.
Starting in West Bay, it is planned to reach Wareham at around 1pm, and will then travel through Bere Regis, Blandford Forum, Wimborne Minster and Verwood. You can find full details of timings and the route Here

“It is fantastic that the Tour of Britain is coming to Dorset on Saturday, and I’m particularly pleased that so many people across the country will see the cyclists travel through several parts of our beautiful constituency. From Wareham to Bere Regis, and then later in the afternoon through Wimborne: what a brilliant, beautiful and challenging route!”
There are Top tips for Spectators:
- Take note of the stage route, road closures and race timings that may affect you
- Grab a safe spectator spot early and enjoy the build up to the peloton arriving
- If you can’t get to a start or finish location, check out where your nearest sprint points of King of the mountain climbs are along the route
- There will be an advance vehicle 15 minutes ahead of the race, keeping you up-to-date with what is happening in the Tour of Britain
- Do not obstruct the riders in any way. Keep children and animals back from the roadside
- The whole stage is live on TV. ITV4 will be showing flag-to-flag live coverage of the entire stage plus a nightly highlights programme, bringing you all of the best bits of the day’s action
