Upton Road - Creekmoor
Upton Road in Poole has been closed Eastbound for several weeks for essential gas maintenance. It was due to re-open at the start of December. Due to difficulties with the work, the road will continue to be closed for a longer period. The initial work has discovered more work that needs to be done to the gas pipes under the road.
The engineers need to carry out further exploratory works, so the Eastbound road will stay closed for the next few weeks. In due course there will also need to be a full road closure (likely to be in January 2024).
Southern Gas networks are aware that this is causing significant inconvenience, and delays for those of us who use the road regularly. They are working with the Council and the Highways team to reduce the impact as far as possible. Michael will continue to receive updates about the situation, and share them with residents.
