Michael was delighted to invite a delegate from Dorset to the Women's Ask Her To Stand event in Parliament.
100 years ago Parliament passed an act allowing women to stand as MPs for the first time. To celebrate this and the anniversary of women being allowed to vote, MPs were asked to invite a woman from their constituency to Parliament for a special day of events. Around 250 MPs took part, and more than 300 women.
The day was organised by Helen Pankhurst and the Centenary Action Group, the Fawcett Society and the Jo Cox Foundation.
