In September the Prime Minister announced the Lifetime Skills Guarantee.
The Chancellor then announced £375 million for the National Skills Fund at the Spending Review in November 2020. This includes £95 million in funding for a new level 3 adult offer and £43 million to expand skills bootcamps.
Almost 400 free courses including engineering, construction, accountancy, conservation, and health have been announced for adults without a qualification at Level 3 (A-Level equivalent) from April 2020.
The qualifications offered in the Lifetime Skills Guarantee programmes are specially selected to meet the needs and demands of the UK economy now we are Building Back Better from the Coronavirus pandemic. They will be reviewed and changed regularly, as the UK economy changes and adapts to new challenges and opportunities.
This Government is determined to ensure that no one is left behind in our Levelling-Up agenda, and that everyone gains the skills they need to reach their ambitions in life.
