Fantastic news today - the third vaccine has been approved for use in the UK.
Nearly 1.5 million vaccines have been administered so far across the UK, meaning we have vaccinated more people than the rest of Europe combined.
We are also the fourth country in the world for vaccinations per capita. You can see all the data on this here
Michael was delighted to hear today that Moderna vaccine has been approved in the UK. We have ordered 17 million doses and this is on top of the current roll-outs of the Pfizer and Oxford/Astrazeneca vaccines.
Michael said "I was so pleased when I heard this news. The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency have spent lots of time making sure these vaccines are safe, and I know of at least one parliamentary colleague who has been involved in testing."
This is a huge national effort and the Government is stepping up to the task so we can beat this virus.
