Michael was delighted to be able to attend several Jubilee events across the constituency, celebrating 70 years of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth being on the throne.
He participated in the parade and Beacon lighting ceremony in Wimborne, ably led by The Quarterjacks of Wimborne, and the beacon lit by Dorset & Wiltshire Fire & Rescue Service. The Town Crier, Chris Brown, was there to keep everyone in order, and Wimborne Militia undertook a 21 gun salute. Radio Wimborne provided PA support, with a brilliant piper, and song by the Minster choir.
Michael also enjoyed the street party in Canford Heath, and the big picnic in Lytchett Matravers.

The Jubilee weekend was such a fantastic celebration of a life of service from Her Majesty the Queen. Whether you watched the big state occasions on the TV, attended a local event like a beacon lighting, or just celebrated at home, I hop you enjoyed yourself. My thanks go to all the organisers of events, and the volunteers and community groups who made it all possible.
