Lytchett Matravers held its first Traditional Village Fayre. It was opened by the Pre-School and other village children dancing around the Maypole to music being played by the "Dotty Crotchets." There were traditional games, such as welly wanging and dunk the vicar. There were also more exotic ones, such as body-zorbing and wall climbing.
Michael Tomlinson said, "I am delighted at how the Fayre went. The weather played a crucial role, and having sunshine all day was a huge bonus. But without the hardwork of the committee and volunteers on the day, this event would not have happened. It was a brilliant event, bringing the community together and I was really pleased to have played my part. The most thanks should go to Xin and Richard, who organised the Carnival for many many years, and to Sharon, without whom this simply would not have happened."
