Constituency Work
During his time as an MP, Michael kept constituents updated with his regular news items on his website, and a newsletter. You can see Photos of his work as an MP on flickr. He hosted work experience students every year, and you can read about their work here. Following their time in his office, several have subsequently been in touch with Michael to update him on their progress in careers in politics and law.
Michael kept constituents up to date with useful information about grants and funding and sources of help for the Cost of Living.

All Party Parliamentary Groups
Before Michael was a Minister, he was involved in a number of All Party Parliamentary Groups. All Party Parliamentary Groups (APPGs) are voluntary groups which bring together politicians from all parties, from both the Commons and the Lords, who have a shared interest in a particular topic. The groups might promote a particular industry or sport, commission reports into an area of life, raise awareness and understanding of a topic, and campaign to the Government on issues.
Michael was involved in the following APPGs during his time in Parliament:

- Broadband and Digital Communications (Vice Chairman)

- Young Disabled People (Vice Chair)
Michael also helped to co-ordinate the Lords & Commons cricket team, including regular tours to the Netherlands.
