I have really enjoyed my work experience. I have never been left doing nothing, and as someone who wants to be an MP one day, it has been extremely interesting learning about the constituency work.
I have performed tasks I never thought I would do, such as writing descriptions for Michael’s website and social media, creating a list of duplicate email addresses from two lists of email addresses, cutting relevant stories from the constituency out of local newspapers, and of course, stuffing hundreds of envelopes. We also had a great debate about whether the government should legislate to protect children on social media.
Finally, on my last day, I visited Lockyer’s school with Michael and Ethan (another work experience student) for a lovely community tea party. It was really interesting to see how Michael interacts with his constituents and local community. Overall, I have a brilliant week.
